Tradition meets inspiration – a new pedestrian area and a new shopping quartier - Leipziger Platz 12 - Mall of Berlin

Precisely here, in an area of Berlin that is steeped in more history than probably any other district, a unique shopping experience is being created. At the heart of the city, a new pedestrian area is growing with an urban mix of shopping, gastronomy, entertainment, hotel, office and living. This complex runs from Leipziger Platz along Leipziger Strasse and is not far from world-famous sights, such as the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and the Reichstag.

With the completion of Leipziger Platz 12 and the expansion at Voßstraße and Wilhelmstraße, this new pedestrian area and shopping quartier will connect Friedrichstraße to Potsdamer Platz and will give a new home to more than 300 different commercial prospects. In the spring of 2014, the retail location of Berlin will be reinvigorated with the addition of stores, gastronomy and much more.

And so, we follow in the 20th century tradition of the old Wertheim and the former pedestrian area in the Berlin Mitte district and we take the time to pay our respects to how it was before the 2nd World War and between the years 1897 and 1944. Rest assured that Berlin’s history with all its glamour will be revitalized and that Berlin will be a leading retail location in Europe for years to come.

Sights

Currently, the project is in the construction phase and approximately 270 stores, 270 apartments, one hotel, a fitness center, offices and an underground car parking garage with approximately 1,000 parking spaces are under construction.

The new main entrance is located on Mohrenstraße, just 300 meters away from the legendary Friedrichstraße. This shopping district will set new standards in Berlin with a retail space of more than 76,000 sqm.

In the underground level, customers find everyday necessities, gifts and cosmetics. Moreover there is a food market, a food discounter and a sports retailer.

On the ground floor, unique and high-quality fashion labels and stunning accessories enable a special and extravagant shopping experience.

The first floor offers a wide range of fashion for everyday and every occasion complemented by a wide range of shoe shops, jewelry and accessories.

The second floor offers fashion for children in a unique young fashion concept. There is a large electronic market as well as Berlin’s largest food court with 30 culinary restaurants. A real culinary experience!
